CAMP BOB ADVENTURE CAMP

Camp Bob kayakingCamp Bob is a unique, rustic outdoor summer adventure camp on Roberts Lake, Vancouver Island, BC. We welcome children and youth of all cultures and backgrounds and invite you to come and enjoy one of the best adventure-packed weeks of the summer here at Camp Bob.

Camp Bob is “off the grid” – meaning no electricity and technology free, and everything we do, we do together … and it all happens outside.

We sleep in large outfitter tents on raised tent platforms. Each camper tent accommodates 2 counsellors with up to 8 campers.

We have an amazing Waterfront program that includes swimming, canoeing, kayaking, sailing, tubing, the Banana, knee-boarding, wake boarding, & water skiing.

Other activities include: rock climbing, archery, hiking, crafts, orienteering, and group wide games.

We have camps for different age groups from 8 – 17, with up to 400 campers and staff participating in our summer camp programs.

Camps begin Sunday 4 pm and end Friday 4 pm, with each camp having a maximum of 48 campers per week.

Within an environment of fun & excitement, we teach positive Christian values, healthy lifestyle choices and life skills through group participation, dramas, firesides, music, devotional times, & one-on-one interaction. Our goal is to ultimately encounter the loving, transforming power of God through the gospel of Jesus Christ.

We are committed to providing an awesome experience for your child within an atmosphere that is physically, emotionally and spiritually, non-threatening and full of fun.

OUTBOUND ADVENTURE CAMPS

July 16 – 21 or August 7 – 12, 2017

Outbound Adventure – Beyond Camp Bob!

An off-site wilderness adventure at various locations around Roberts Lake and the North Island.

This Summer Outbound will be partnering with Zao Outdoor Ministries to offer 2 back-country Adventure trips.  Choose between a 5 day Canoe Trip on the Sayward Forest Canoe Route (July 16 – 21) and a 5 day Mountain Backpacking Trip (August 7 – 12), exploring Tenent Lake and Mount Myra in Strathcona Park.  To find out more about Zao Outdoor Ministries, please visit their website at: www.zaoministries.org

The Canoe Route is approximately 50 km in length, includes 10 lakes and 10 portages. Portages are trails between the lakes where canoes need to be carried along a trail. The longest portages will be aided by the use of canoe carts on the trail system. It is an amazing trip through some of the most beautiful places on Vancouver Island.

The Mountain Backpacking Trip will be in the Tenent Lake, Mount Myra area of Strathcona Park and will be exploring many of the Alpine lakes and ridges in that area.  This trip demands physical fitness as you will be carrying your own gear for the duration of the 5 day trip.  Backpacking gear can be supplied upon request.

OUTBOUND Canoe Trip will begin on Sunday, July 16, meeting in the Camp Bob parking lot at 1:30 pm and will end at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, July 21 in the Camp Bob parking lot.

OUTBOUND Backpacking Trip will begin on Monday, August 7, meeting in the Camp Bob parking lot at 1:30 pm and will end at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 12, in the Camp Bob parking lot.

Applicants must be physically fit, willing to push themselves physically and emotionally as we explore new wilderness territory together.

Teamwork is essential to the success of this trip.

A maximum of 8 campers will be accepted into each trip.
